Taking time to prepare your resume is important, as this is the first impression that an agency or prospective employer gets of you. A resume markets your skills and abilities, with a focus on your education and working history.
Key Tips on Writing a Successful CV
- Keep your CV format simple, neat and tidy and use one font size.
- Include a short and sharp career profile at the top of your CV.
- Place the important relevant information up-front including skills and/or achievements that might be relevant to the role.
- Make sure clear and concise duties and responsibilities are indicated under each role; use bullet points and avoid lengthy essays.
- Put experience and education achievements in reverse chronological order.
- Proofread for spelling and grammatical errors, dates which conflict with one another, etc.
- Do not include a photo and other personal information unless requested.

Preparing for an interview can be daunting, especially if you have not been on an interview in a long time. Every interview is different and all dependant on the style of the interviewer (client). Our advice is” Always do your research”!
Here are a few tips that might help you with your next interview:
- Research and understand key information about the organisation you’re interviewing with.

- Arrive 10 minutes early to your interview.
- Keep your answers concise and focused, and your selling points clear.

- Situation – Describe the event or situation you were in
- Task – Explain the task you had to complete
- Action – Describe the specific actions you took to complete the task
- Result – Close with the result of your efforts
- Prepare at least a question or two to ask the interviewer to demonstrate your interest in the organisation.
- Ask about the next steps in the process and close on a positive note.
