Finance Business Partner
- Location Gold Coast, QLD
- Job Type Full Time
- Posted April 29, 2026
This is an opportunity to join a purpose-led organisation based on the Gold Coast.
We are seeking a Finance Business Partner to support portfolio performance, financial reporting and decision making across a growing Queensland operation. With significant investment in the state, the portfolio is set to grow substantially over the coming years, bringing increased scale, complexity and opportunity within the finance team.
This is a hands-on role within a national not-for-profit where you will sit close to the business, partnering closely with State Managers of Operations, Development and supporting Commercial teams to track performance, support planning and provide clear financial insight.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will take ownership of a portfolio and support end-to-end financial management across it.
This includes budgeting, forecasting, monthly reporting and performance tracking, along with working closely with stakeholders to understand what is driving results and where action is needed.
You will also work across funding and service agreements, supporting financial outcomes by understanding key terms, obligations and performance requirements across your portfolio.
A key aspect of the role is supporting projects through their lifecycle, partnering with development and commercial teams during delivery, then taking ownership of financial reporting and performance once operational.
The environment is growing and evolving, with an expanding portfolio and increasing complexity across funding structures, projects and operations. This role will play a key part in bringing structure, clarity and insight as that growth continues.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end financial management of a portfolio, covering planning, forecasting, reporting and performance.
- Deliver monthly reporting, variance analysis and performance insights
- Partner with State Managers and operational teams to support decision making
- Track project and portfolio performance, highlighting risks and opportunities
- Interpret funding and service agreements to support financial outcomes
- Support capital activities including drawdowns, repayments and covenant tracking
- Work closely with development and commercial teams on project updates
- Contribute to improvements across reporting, processes and systems
- Support audits, assurance processes and continuous improvement initiatives
About You
You’re someone who likes being close to the detail and understanding how things actually work. You’re comfortable working across a portfolio with multiple moving parts, and you don’t need everything mapped out to get started.
You’re confident working with stakeholders across operations and finance, able to ask the right questions, challenge where needed and explain financial outcomes in a clear, practical way.
You have a strong financial accounting foundation and are comfortable owning budgeting, forecasting, reporting and performance tracking, while also working across contracts and funding agreements where required.
You will bring:
- Strong financial accounting foundation, with experience across month-end, reconciliations and reporting
- Minimum 3-5 yrs experience in finance business partnering, FP&A or commercial finance
- Strong experience across budgeting, forecasting and performance tracking
- Ability to interpret contracts, funding agreements or complex frameworks
- Confidence working with operational stakeholders in a hands-on environment
- Solid Excel skills and ability to work with data from multiple systems
- Exposure to multi-entity or portfolio-based environments
- CA or CPA qualified or working towards
- Proactive, self-starting approach with the ability to work through ambiguity
Why This Role?
- Purpose-led organisation with meaningful social impact
- Growing portfolio with increasing scale and complexity
- Hands-on role with ownership across reporting and performance
- Strong stakeholder exposure across operations and development
- Opportunity to step into a broader business partnering role
