IT Support Officer - Desktop and Field Support

Looking for your first opportunity in IT, or ready to take the next step in your IT Support career? We’re looking for an IT Support Officer to join a friendly and supportive team providing Desktop Support, Field Support and End User Support across a large multi-site environment. Based in Mile End, you’ll gain hands-on experience troubleshooting hardware, software, Windows devices and network issues while supporting users both remotely and onsite across South Australia. You’ll be joining an easy-going, collaborative team that values a positive culture and is looking for someone who is keen to learn, develop and build their career in IT.

 

What you’ll be doing

  • Providing IT Support, Desktop Support and Field Support.
  • Troubleshooting desktops, laptops, hardware, software, printers and peripheral devices.
  • Installing, configuring and maintaining PCs, hardware and devices.
  • Supporting Windows desktop environments.
  • Performing basic network and TCP/IP troubleshooting.
  • Supporting technologies including Microsoft 365, DNS, DHCP, Exchange, VMware, SCCM, file and print services and application servers.
  • Assisting with technology deployments, hardware rollouts, site upgrades and IT projects.
  • Providing onsite technical support across metropolitan and regional locations.

What we’re looking for

You don’t need years of experience to be considered. We’re interested in people with the right attitude, a genuine interest in technology and a willingness to learn.

You may have:

  • Recently completed or be finishing a university or TAFE qualification in IT, Information Technology or a related discipline.
  • Experience in IT Support, Desktop Support, Technical Support, Help Desk, Service Desk, Field Support or End User Support.
  • Knowledge of Windows desktop operating systems.
  • Exposure to Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Windows Server, SCCM, VMware, PowerShell or networking.
  • An understanding of hardware, software and basic network troubleshooting.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • A practical approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn.

The important details

This is a full-time, onsite position based in Mile End, South Australia.

As you’ll provide IT support across multiple locations, you must:

  • Hold a current open driver’s licence.
  • Have access to your own reliable vehicle for work-related travel.
  • Be comfortable travelling to metropolitan and regional sites.
  • Have unrestricted Australian working rights. Candidates on temporary visas or requiring sponsorship cannot be considered.
